What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a Martial Art which originated in South Korea. The name defines its meaning - "Tae", meaning foot; "kwon", meaning fist; and "do", meaning way or discipline. It can therefore be summarily translated to English as the 'Foot-fist-discipline'.
Its popularity has soared over the last few decades with emphasis on the Sporting aspect of the Art. Today, Taekwondo is practised by over 60 million people in over 208 countries worldwide and is recognised as a formal Sport at the Olympic Games.

Why do Taekwondo?

What is the minimum starting age?
Participants are usually allowed to start from the age of five (5) years old.
Am I too old to join?
Taekwondo is for everyone! If you are unsure, you should first have clearance from your medical doctor and then contact the Association. Then have a chat with one of our Instructors and get started!
How do I join and get involved?
Opportunities exist not only for athletes, but Administrators, Officials, parent-helper members, community volunteers, etc and you can contribute one any of multiple committees. Once you choose a Club it's easy! Fill out a registration form and submit it through the Club Head.
